Subjects are distinct, yet interconnected, allowing for a holistic learning experience in which students apply what they're learning in a variety of contexts. Creating a Culture of Transdisciplinary Learning Now, more than ever, STEM needs to be at the core of learning but, not STEM as a standalone, Integrated STEM. Districts and schools are faced with an unprecedented learning environment, in order to keep students engaged, content must connect across all subject areas. Transdisciplinary learning requires not only a high degree of collaboration among all members of the learning community, but also a shift in mindset. It necessitates that specialists think as generalists, even as they facilitate understanding of a subject in which they have expertise to support student inquiries.
